Dr. (Mrs.) S. C. Onyeiwu joined the service of Kaduna Polytechnic in 1985, and rose through the ranks to the position of Chief lecturer and Dean, School of Technology. Occasionally, she acted as the Head of Department of Food Technology. She received best dedicated staff award from her department.
She has taught, mentored, and encouraged numerous graduates in Microbiology and Food Technology. She is well respected and recognized for her numerous contributions in workshops, publications (books and journals), and conferences.

She is the Chairperson, Examination Malpractice Committee, College of Science and technology. She is also a member of the Academic Board, Academic Programmes Advisory Committee, E-learning and Edu-portal Implementation Committee, and College of Science and Technology Board of Studies, amongst others.

Her current interests are in the area of Petroleum Microbiology, specifically the distribution and bioremediation potentials of petroleum hydrocarbon degrading microorganisms at contaminated sites.

The School of Technology, offers competitive courses that enables its products (graduands) display professional competence and proficiency that is unrivalled.
Among the litany of courses offered by the School are Hospitality Management, Leisure & Tourism, Food Technology, Printing Technology, Fashion Design & Clothing Technology, IJMB.
